Cultivate awareness of the importance of plasma donation and engage with the community to
encourage more people to become donors.

Plasma donation is a relatively simple process, but it's helpful to
know what to expect beforehand.

A:

Plasma donation is the process of giving
blood plasma, a component of your
blood that is crucial for various medical
treatments. Plasma is the liquid part of
your blood, making up about 55% of its
volume, and it contains water,
electrolytes, proteins, hormones, and
waste products.

Q:

What is Plasma donation?

A:

  • Preparation: You’ll be asked to provide some basic health
information and undergo a preliminary health check to
    ensure you’re eligible to donate.
  • Donation Process: During the donation, a needle is inserted
into a vein, typically in your arm. Blood is drawn out and
passed through a machine that separates the plasma from
other blood components, such as red blood cells and
platelets. The remaining components are then returned to
your body through the same needle.
  • Duration: The whole process usually takes about 45
    minutes to an hour.
  • Aftercare: Plasma donation is generally safe, but you might
be advised to drink plenty of fluids and avoid strenuous
activity right after the donation. You may also experience
some mild fatigue or a bruise at the needle site.
